What is a Japanese head spa?
A deeply relaxing, multi-sensory scalp and hair ritual — a deep-cleansing scalp treatment, massage, steam and aromas, using our cherry blossom hair range and professional salon haircare. It cleanses and detoxes the scalp, relieves tension and leaves hair glossy and healthy, all while you completely switch off. Our Silver (Head Spa & Facial Glow) and Gold head spas include a facial too, finished with Tropic skincare.
What's the difference between the Hydro and Crystal facials?
Both exfoliate, but differently. Hydro is a gentle chemical exfoliation (a mild acid peel) that drives a targeted serum deep into the skin to plump and hydrate — great for dry, dull or sensitive skin. Crystal is a deeper physical exfoliation (Crystal MD) that resurfaces and refines — best for rough texture, congestion and blackheads. You can combine both for the deepest result.
Does Crystal MD hurt, and is there any downtime?
No — it's a comfortable, gentle treatment. Most people describe a soft exfoliating sensation with light, warming suction — soothing rather than harsh. There's no downtime with any of our facials: no peeling or recovery, so you can head straight back to your day (or an event).
How many Brazilian Sculpt (wood therapy) sessions will I need?
Wood therapy is results-driven, so a course works best — most people notice reduced bloating and smoother skin in the first 1–3 sessions, visible toning and contouring by 4–5, and optimal results over a full course of 6–8, 1–2 a week, followed by occasional maintenance. It's a body-contouring and lymphatic wellness treatment, not a weight-loss treatment.
What happens at my first visit?
Every treatment begins with a short consultation so we can match the right treatment, depth and products to your skin and needs. A consultation form is sent before your first appointment to save time on the day.
Do I need a patch test or consultation before a facial?
All facials begin with a short consultation to check for contraindications and match the right treatment to your skin. Separately, a patch test is required at least 48 hours before all tinting and Korean lash appointments. It only takes a moment and keeps everything safe and tailored to you.
Can I have treatments while pregnant?
Some treatments aren't suitable during pregnancy (including wood therapy and certain facials). Please let us know when booking so we can advise and keep you and baby safe.
How do I book, and is a deposit needed?
Booking is quick and personal — just message, WhatsApp or call us and we'll confirm your time. A 50% deposit secures all spa packages (and a smaller deposit for treatments over £40), which comes off your final total. The balance of a package is due before your appointment.
What's your cancellation policy?
Life happens — we just ask for at least 24 hours' notice to change or cancel. Late cancellations and no-shows may forfeit the deposit, as spa days and packages hold a lot of time set aside just for you.
What should I know before a package or spa day?
Arrive around 5–10 minutes early so we can start relaxed and on time. Wear comfy clothes — you'll be given a robe for spa days, and slippers for our adult experiences. Your main treatments (head spa, massage) take place in the treatment room; your foot rituals, refreshments and downtime happen in the private Relaxation Room. Let us know of any allergies, sensitivities or health conditions when you book. Our adult spa days for two are 18+, both guests — for ages 13 to 17 it’s our Teen Spa Day.
Do children and teens need a parent to stay?
Yes — younger children have a parent or guardian with them, and under-18s need parental consent. We’ll sort out the details with you when you book, so just get in touch and we’ll guide you.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes — gift vouchers are available in any amount and are redeemable against all treatments and spa packages. They make a beautiful gift of wellness and are valid for 12 months. See the Gift Vouchers section above.
Where are you, and is there parking?
We're at 5 Princes Street, Suite 3, Port Glasgow PA14 5JA — next to the train station, across from the Caledonian Bar. Look for the two black gates, walk through, and we're at the back of the building. You'll see our sign and door. Free street parking, and a car park a short walk away.
